INTRODUCTION


The Food Safety and Quality Division (FSQD)
, Ministry of Health Malaysia is one of the governance bodies that are responsible for the integrated surveillance of AMR under the Malaysian Action Plan of AMR. FSQD is conducting the AMR Surveillance in Foodborne bacteria for Salmonella spp. and Escherichia coli in five (5) types of food categories which includes fish, chicken, beef, mutton and pork at retail markets. The prevalence of AMR at retail market is expected to be able to link between the prevalence of AMR in human and animal sector for integrated surveillance programme.
